440 Greenway Phase I - Nashville, TN
The first phase of the 440 Greenway is 1.25 miles of paved trail linking two parks and providing a safe connection to neighborhoods previously divided by I-440 and I-40. The trail parallels I-440 between Centennial Park and Elmington Park in Nashville. Collier Engineering staff managed the Greenway’s initial feasibility study, developed the real estate documents and applications needed to license the property from the TN Department of Transportation, and provided the project’s survey, design, and engineering. The most significant challenges included navigating existing utilities and infrastructure, steep slopes, and constructing an underpass below an existing TDOT bridge spanning a CSX rail line.
