Recreational Sport Surfaces

Sports Court

One of Collier’s many services includes designing and managing the construction of Tennis courts and Recreational Surfaces. Following the guidelines of the American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) and the United States Tennis Association (USTA), some of our surface design specifications can include a wide variety of crack sealants, acrylic resurfacers and coloring systems, geotextile asphalt overlay fabric, and asphalt surface materials. Drawing from our 25-plus years of asphalt experience, Collier evaluates each court site and will recommend which process would be best suited for each tennis or recreational surface. Collier’s Construction Inspection (CEI) Service group will manage the court installation by having on-site personnel verify project quantities installed and ensure the Contractor meets the overall project specifications and quality expectations. Not only do we review the work on-site, but we also review the Contractor’s monthly pay applications for project compliance with the construction contract. 

Collier Engineering has the in-house capability to perform landscape design or infrastructure improvements that might be needed. Additionally, with our background working with Metro Nashville’s Stormwater Requirements, we have a wide range of experience using Low Impact Design elements (LID) with site work and stormwater runoff.

Sports Fields

We have team members with experience in designing and supervising the construction of various sports fields and facilities, including public parks and educational facilities, from elementary to the collegiate level. Each field type requires a different understanding of the client’s user groups league/sport rules and standards. Providing for such a wide range of end-user groups, we have in-depth knowledge of the field standards and rules of play for all major outdoor sports, from youth leagues to NCAA standards. This experience also includes designing all-weather track surfacing, cinder and clay track surfacing, natural turf fields, and synthetic turf fields in both new install and resurfacing applications.
