SERVING COMMUNITIES WITH SOLUTIONS THAT LAST SINCE 1981

The late Mr. James L. Collier, P.E., founded Collier Engineering in 1981. His steady hand and wealth of knowledge shaped the business and engineering principles of our current President, Mr. Chad A. Collier, P.E. The founding principles of the company, providing cost-effective designs and focusing on the needs of the client above anything else, continues to guide our staff of professionals today. Collier puts a strong emphasis on the continuing education of our team to employ the most current techniques available while always remaining committed to those traditional values. We are committed to providing all our solutions in a way that will extend the service life of any asset, reduce future maintenance costs and liabilities, and offer the highest quality of service to our clients.

What We Do | Our Culture | Achievements

Our Philosophy

Collier Engineering fosters teamwork to create solutions engineered to last.  This means utilizing our diverse and talented pool of professionals to develop solutions that are focused on client goals. We encourage communication and work to maximize outcomes while maintaining budgets and schedules.

We pride ourselves on successful project delivery, and our team works proactively to minimize challenges and mitigate risk during construction.  This is accomplished by our ability to cross-train design staff with construction inspectors so that our engineers have a real-world understanding on how a design is implemented on-site.  The result is a collaborative studio where we develop designs and plans that can be built efficiently and cost-effectively, ensuring our projects stay on schedule and under budget.

This philosophy extends into the field during construction. Our inspectors are trained to help identify and navigate challenges before they become an issue.  We work closely with the Contractor to help determine resolutions to typical challenges while protecting the owners’ interests.

Throughout our work, we maintain focus on how we best serve our clients. We work hard to cultivate relationships based on professionalism and trust.   We take great pride in developing the infrastructure that supports healthy, vibrant communities.

OUR Executive Leadership

Chad Collier, PE - President

Matt Campbell - Vice President of Operations

Collier Engineering believes in a positive culture that is challenging but rewarding.  We strive to provide an inclusive space, that promotes a collaborative and supportive environment.  We promote activities that will yield internal growth and increase the knowledge of our staff.

We aren’t just about work.  We aim to organize team building and socializing events that strengthen our office family.   Collier understands how taking a break from time to time and coming together as a firm not only encourages socializing, but can leave an employee feeling appreciated.

Collier Engineering supports community involvement.  We value being involved and giving back to the communities that we serve and live within.  We do this by encouraging employees to actively engage with charities and volunteer opportunities we can contribute to as a group through our time, skills and support.

Master Plan and Phase One concept plan for a 600 acre property in Southeast Davidson County. The diverse demographics of the surrounding area create a distinctive opportunity to provide a park designed specifically as an inclusive space for all Nashvillians. The Mill Ridge Master Plan focused on creating an equitable public space that brings together the most diverse quadrant of Davidson County. Phase One includes a gathering lawn, pavilions, and a regional playground unlike any other in the Metro Park System.

On May 1, 2010 Tennessee experienced an extreme and unprecedented weather event that caused a historic flood in the Metro Nashville area. Through existing contracts, Metro Public Works (MPW) enlisted Collier Engineering to manage the Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) portion of the roadway repair projects necessitated by the flood. Collier along with Metro Public Works was recognized by the American Public Works Association (APWA) as the 2010 “Project of the Year”

Collier Engineering can be relied upon for quality and professionalism whether managing large projects or providing surveying services. Sessions Paving Company looks forward to working with them in the future and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.
