Agricultural Extension Center - Wayne County TN.

The Wayne County Government worked for years to get this Agricultural Extension Building project off the ground. Collier Engineering helped the stakeholder group of the Wayne County Government, University of Tennessee Extension, and the Natural Resources and Soil Conservation move this project from dream to reality in a cost-effective approach that also accomplished the goals of the community. Collier Engineering helped organize the stakeholder group and develop a common list of goals and expectations for the new building and grounds. We then organized these into a site development package and bridging document that allowed the county to procure construction services for a design/build project.

This approach allowed the local government group to move forward without incurring the costs for professional services up front. This allowed the project to move forward more quickly and efficiently, with detailed design and engineering of the building systems being delegated to the construction contract. This further allowed the local government to solicit bids for construction and understand the true cost of the project. This approach enabled Wayne County to seek additional grant funds and expedite the project.
