Client:
Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation Department

In 2013 the Nashville Metro Parks and Recreation Department identified a need for off-leash dog park additions at Two Rivers Park and Pitts Park. Drawing from over 30 years of civil design and construction experience allowed the team at Collier Engineering to more than meet the needs of the client.

Civil design services provided by Collier engineering included analysis of existing paved surfaces with recommendations for repair, plans and specifications for an improved parking lot with ADA compliant pedestrian access to the dog park area, fencing, access control plans, and signage plans.

Going beyond the planning phase Collier was also able to provide Bidding and Construction Inspection (CEI) Services, Collier personal was on site regularly verifying project quantities used as well as making sure the contractor met overall project quality expectations.

From preliminary site surveys to final construction inspection, Collier was instrumental in the implementation and civil design of the dog park additions at Two Rivers and Pitts Park. The dog parks were officially opened to the public in July of 2014 and have proven to be a great success with the client and community.
