Goodpasture Christian School - Tennis Court Rehabilitation
Madison, Tennessee
Collier Engineering provided planning, design support, construction coordination, and quality assurance/quality control services for the rehabilitation of three existing asphalt tennis courts at Goodpasture Christian School.
The project focused on restoring the existing court surfaces, improving playability, and enhancing the facility's overall appearance and versatility. Improvements included cleaning and pressure washing the existing asphalt surfaces, correcting low areas and birdbaths, treating existing cracks, and installing a new court color system and playing lines in accordance with current United States Tennis Association (USTA) and American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) standards.
To expand the courts' functionality, pickleball lines were incorporated using a secondary striping color, allowing the facility to accommodate multiple racket sports while maintaining clear tennis court markings. A custom Goodpasture "G Paw" logo was also incorporated between the courts using textured paint, creating a distinctive school-branded feature within the renovated facility.
Additional improvements included repainting the existing net posts and installing new tennis nets and center straps, installing black vinyl-coated chain-link fencing and posts, and refurbishing the existing court benches to complement the upgraded facility.
Collier Engineering performed site inspections to document existing conditions, collect measurements and repair data, and develop the project scope and technical requirements. The team also assisted Goodpasture Christian School with contractor coordination and contract execution.
During construction, Collier provided project and construction management services, including a pre-construction meeting, schedule and submittal management, contractor pay application review, and coordination between the school and contractor. QA/QC inspections were performed throughout construction to document progress, maintain field reports and photographic records, verify conformance with the contract documents, and develop punch-list and project closeout documentation.
