Manley Lane Roundabout at Grassland Middle School

The Williamson County Highway Dept. and Williamson County Schools collaborated to build the Manley Lane Roundabout. Growth in the area has increased car ridership to and from Grassland Middle School. As a result, the school’s traffic had begun backing into and blocking Manley Lane. To help alleviate the problem, Williamson County Schools had to utilize multiple personnel for traffic control to manage the traffic backups. Collier Engineering met with the school leaders and the surrounding community to discuss the best available options, with the roundabout being the preferred choice. The new roundabout design and construction allow continuous access into and out of the school while maintaining an open through lane on Manley, which significantly reduces potential backups and eliminates the need for additional school personnel to conduct traffic control.
