Manley Lane Roundabout at Grassland Middle School

The Manley Lane Roundabout was a collaborative effort between Williamson County Highway Dept and Williamson County Schools. Growth in the area has led to an increase in car ridership to and from Grassland Middle School. As a result, the school’s traffic had begun backing into and blocking Manley Lane. To help alleviate the problem, Williamson County Schools had to utilize multiple personnel for traffic control to manage the traffic backups. Collier Engineering met with the school leaders and the surrounding community to discuss the best available options, with the roundabout being the preferred choice. The design and construction of the new roundabout allow continuous access into and out of the school while maintaining an open through lane on Manley, which significantly reduces potential backups and removes the need for additional school personnel conducting traffic control.
