Trinity Road - Williamson County, TN
Bridge Replacement & Roadway Improvements
Collier Engineering performed the engineering design and construction management for Williamson County Highway Department. The project scope of work consisted of the bridge replacement and roadway improvements of the Trinity Road bridge crossing over the Harpeth River. The existing bridge was structurally deficient, and the road was closed due to the structure being unsafe. The proposed improvements for this 110 feet single-span bridge allowed for a 22’ wide hot mixed asphalt-paved roadway, and three-foot gravel shoulders on each side. The project grading included the necessary roadway ditches on either side of the road as needed for stormwater drainage, and the essential side slope and driveway adjustments for the roadway improvements. Collier Engineering performed coordination with local utilities, along with assistance to the Williamson County Highway Department for any property owner issues such as fences, driveways, landscaping, construction easements, and slope easements. The original construction budget set by Williamson county Highway Department was for $725,000. Through excellent construction management and a well thought out design, the bridge was built under budget for approximately $605,000, creating a savings for Williamson County.
